Turn played per orders.

SC is turtling in Mukata. They went full gold so they will have about four or five potential upgrades to rifles. If they put the south stack into Mukata this turn they will have more base units than we can account for, but over half of those base units are quechua, axemen, etc. that don't pose much threat to a rifle. I really think we have a chance to eliminate their main strength here. We'll have 8 trebuchets available to attack the city after we bombard their defenses to zero. We have 10 rifles and 10 cavalry, and they will have at best 5 rifles, most of them probably damaged by trebuchets (though we'll probably lose all or at least most of our trebuchets).

France won't join yet. :( The Ethiopians and Russians are both willing to join in the war if we give them rifling. Alternatively we could also trade rifling to the Ethiopians for scientific method, but I'm not really interested in that since it will obsolete our monasteries (+2 hammers and +10% science).

So far looks good. I guess we make Mutata the meat grinder.

I know the Ethiopians and Russians are far away, but it still may be worth it to have them involved. This may go on for awhile. Also, not sure whether that may help sway the French. ie I don't know if the coded in a 'dog pile' routine to the AI.

I'm fine with that. We might as well get something going with them.

What is also nice is that many of their units are not promoted - although they clearly have some promos pending.

Also - the reinforcement stack that is arriving, as well as alot of the current defenders have city raider, cover (vs archers), and shock (vs melee) promotions which will do them no good whatsoever. Presumably we will promote our last few units prior to attacking?

With the reinforcement stack - SC will have 28 units and 6 catapults. I expect they may attack with the catapults first. Then again - they misjudge this and figure we will be using a full turn to reduce the city before assaulting.

We have lots of siege weapons and 20 attackers, all well-promoted cav and rifles except for two elephants.

Just read the turn orders and saw the promotions being handed out. :)

As to SC's promos...almost all their units will only have 1 (or 2 for the knights). Their older units have some decent promos, but those units are still axes and quechuas and those promos won't do jack.
