I see, we are not entirely sure what to do. I take it then... :)

another proposal, we could also just try to spend the money on getting as many comm links as possible, and then trading our techs with other factions.

CEO Morgan: "Ok, we accept your offer. Thank you Layde Deirdre."

Deirdre: "Do you have any further business?"

CEO Morgan: "Yes, we would like to access more of your research data."

Deirdre: "I see, and what do you offer in return?"

CEO Morgan: "Some of our valuable research data, perhaps?"

Deirdre: "Well, actually I can offer you Doctrine Flexibility for 100 EC again. Do you agree?"

-----------------

Well, we still have more than 100 EC, but this time we would stay with like 36 EC. So I do not know. Foils are good technology. but this time my vote would be: no.

I would prefer tech for a tech.

Let's take what we can!

With new bases and a Treaty, we'll earn 20EC/turn in 2,3 years.

100EC is not much then.

EDIT: Just saw your post!

Not only foils are good but we can't let the crazy Gaian witch snatch all the goodies just under our nose!

But I let you, Governors, come to an understanding.

Let's just say that Strategic Forces consider Doctrine:Flexibility, well, strategic!

So you say: "take Doctrine Flexibility" ?

I like flexibility a lot more

but I just managed to get it from Zak, I payed the Gaians 75 EC for Zaks contact, then I managed to sell Industrial Base to the gaians for 25 EC

I gave Zak a freebie, Centauri Ecology for a peace treaty, then I traded him Industrial base in return for his files on Flexibility.

In total I spent 50 EC

Obtained: Flexibility, Zak's contact

I'd say that but:

- my vote weighs less than those of Governors. (Military subordinated to civilian power)

- it''s the short-sighted decision of a soldier drooling in front of new toys like a dog in front of a piece of meat:D

... I payed the Gaians 75 EC for Zaks contact, ...

What??? Deirdre is so greedy?

------

We can do it... :)

--------

And just for the fact of asking for a commlink 75 EC, I would admit Lady Deirdre honorary citizenship of Morgan Industries! :)

That makes sense: if she dislikes someone, she doesn't want you to talk with him.

I can refuse Doctrine Flexibility now, then trade as many commlinks as possible. Maybe starting with Lal then...

During one of my attempts I managed to get Yang's contact through Zak, Yang is willing to trade me High Energy Chemistry in exchange for files on Flexibility.

I can't get anything out of Lal. Lal sucks

CEO Morgan: "No thanks, maybe not this time. We would prefer a better price..."

Deirdre: "In that case, my apologies, CEO. I do not have whole day to talk"

Dierdre closes commlink, so that's it in this year. I think we can try in 2126. Let us propose some talks agenda.

by the way did you get us a loan at a cost of 200 EC or 300 EC over 100 years?

I could only get the 300EC over 100 years from Deirdre

120 EC for 200.

There is mid-save for download in the decade thread.

Mission Year 2126

This year Lady Deirdre politely declined to speak with us.

-------------

Making a plan for talks in 2127. I think the idea of trading as many commlinks as we can could bring benefits, so should we start right from that?

What else can we ask Deirdre? After we take commlinks, a tech for a tech?

Whatever we want, better take it all at once: calling often strains the relationship (according to experts).

I'm not sure, in my singleplayers I was calling AI almost every turn, often I did not notice a difference. In a single conversation, that is true, after some number of exchanges the commlink gets closed. It seems to be related with mood, so magnanimous allows to talk every turn.

Mission Year 2127

Deirdre can talk.

My question would be, maybe apart from paying EC for commlink, we might offer something else? AI can ask other stuff, e.g. technology.

My opening started with asking joining vendetta and then Industrial Base tech again.

Zak's commlink is starting to look expensive at 75 EC...

I'd be in favour of selling to her Industrial Base for 25 EC.

by asking for some energy credits and saying that you're willing to share tech in return.

25EC for a tech seems cheap. It's less than we earn in 2 years.

A tech for a tech would be more worthy.

I start talks with Deirdre

-------------

Deirdre greets CEO Morgan, then requests help in her vendetta offering Pact of Brotherhood in return. We decline, because we have not spoken with Zakharov. Then she asks for transfer of Industrial Base from our databanks. I was thinking to refuse, but let's see, if she trades Gene Splicing in exchange. No, she cannot trust us. Deirdre is all that time ambivalent towards us.

We continue talks, and this time, I ask about commlinks for other factions, so I ask for contact with Zakharov. I let Deirdre to name her price and she mentions Industrial Base again.

Any thoughts on that? If we consider, that we might instead pay 75 EC, this seems much better offer, it's like we sell this tech for 75 EC.

I traded Zakharov commlink for Industrial Base. Deirdre closes the talks at this point.

In talks with Deirdre. After Zakharov signed truce, Lady Deirdre sold us Lal's commlink for 10 EC. Then we signed pact. Now she offers to give us Gene Splicing for Industrial Economics. And I am going to take it. It looks like we will be able to trade even more...

We can get Doctrine flexibility for information Networks.

And we got a free tech gratis...
