  1. :b: I've chosen my 2 favorites.
  2. That clarifies things. Thanks!
  3. A copter question. If a copter from Faction A crash-lands at the end of its turn (but is still alive) and Faction B wants to attack it, what is the best weapon: interceptor or penetrator? Is the copter considered as landed (and thus easy prey to a penetrator) or as a flying unit (requiring an interceptor)?
  4. And I.
  5. Greetings, VaderSeven! Even after years of playing, noob moments still happen, this game is incredibly deep.:b: I can't speak for others but I can make you recommendations to help you make it much more than just a game: an experience! First, the advice would be (if you didn't already of course) to read the introduction story of how the UN mission failed and why (if you didn't already of course). Journey to Centauri is downloadable at: http://www.firaxis.com/smac/assets/journey.rtf And then, to read the 2 novels quoted (in the printed manual, that you probably don't own) as the most influential in making this game: - Frank Herbert's The Jesus Incident (for drones and native life) - Kim Stanley Robinson's Red Mars (for terraforming and faction leaders...and so much more) By doing this, the game becomes alive. Awesome!
  6. I was 44 TURNS behind Cool!?!? I should watch him more attentively in our PBEM then...:scared: Congratulations! :b:
  7. As the revival of the GotM seems looming, publishing the results of this one would help motivate the troops.
  8. The results...
  9. Shi'a and Sunni ? I think the Sunnis are more expansionist while the Shi'as would tend to hold their land and be more...cunning (probe bonus?). Maybe a dichotomy attack/defence bonus like we have with the Progenitors.
  10. Yes, this place wouldn't be the same without you. :b:
  11. Results and competition add some motivation to the GotMs. Alas I couldn't finish Warcrimes and have not even touched Market Forces. But now I feel ready for another one.
  12. That would be creepy, Man! (but, yes, do it!)
  13. I won't have internet access until Sunday.
  14. Yeah! They really blundered with this one. That's too bad!
  15. The game is out of the box. It's playable and not buggy (at least for me) but one can see they had to rush it due to some external problems (retail places probably since brad told it would be August or february). Whatever its current limitations in UI and mechanisms, the game is FUN, and that's the most important. I know, it doesn't answer the main question of this thread: a new forum for Elemental?
  16. Last post is a spam: http://www.weplayciv.com/forums/showthread.php?2648-March-2010-Game-of-the-Month-UNSA-United-Nations-Space-Agency&p=145156#post145156
  17. It's just Change I Can't Believe In! Upgrading computer stuff is fine but one could keep the former colors and not put some kind of pink or orange... Other things: - If you use white for the words (see the 2 buttons at bottom right saying "Alpha centauri" and "Top"), then you don't use some kind of WTF white effect on the upper half! - The 2 buttons "+ Reply to Thread" at top and bottom are totally useless since they don't open anything and just show you the Quick reply box! - they really could make user's names and other prints associated larger, yours doesn't even take half the width of the box. - and again, I'd like to see the icons indicating new posts having brighter colors. Someone wanted to re-invent the wheel here. Sorry but this is crappy, sloppy work!:nonono:
  18. I've put the SMAC theme but it barely helps. That crap could almost deter me from reading and posting.
  19. HEÛRK! They call that an upgrade? You can hardly tell when there is a new post by the colors.
  20. Hello! Has something happened to my computer when I was away or did someone decided to make this forum just UGLY?
  21. Yes! Welcome and make yourself at home! (and don't be surprised by a relative lack of activity: it's the holidays)
