  1. Ok, been playing BTS as my second favorite CIV game behind Call To Power...something I have never really used because I dont know what exactly the use is or how to properly use...Hit Singles/Musicals. I know the Civilopedia says they produce Happinness..but does it automatically extoll happiness or do I have to activate or how does it do this? Thanks Gramps
  2. Thanks for your work Solver!
  3. We were in northeast quadrant, worse place to be as the storm was so slow around 2-4 mph for a long duration. Rain Rain and MORE Rain...shew...glad we are finally drying out
  4. Its been rough as schools are flooded and damaged, 5 weeks and counting but we shall survive
  5. I am just getting back online I live in Onslow County, Jacksonville North Carolina...we were three days in the right quadrant of Florence (North East of eyewall is most times the worse due to circulation) Hurricane Florence went over us...three days with Tropical Storm Force winds and over 36 hours with Hurricane Force Windfield gusts...many over 100 MPH Gusts...sustained over 90 MPH during this time....we lost power for almost 6 full days.....worse one I have been through...makes 7 Hurricanes that have come over the top of us plus another half dozen Tropical named storms...as graphics show we had over 30 inches of rain....

  7. Great Nikolai! Good to hear from you too! Saw your name in the credits, congrats!!!! Gramps
  8. Doing great my friend! Been busy at work and of course 6 grandchildren keep me blessed! I was soooo disappointed in CIV V (more than I was disappointed at Sid Meier's Railroad) that I never got the expansion packs and felt used as a long time fan, however it was business and I kept playing and modding - by - Gramps on BTS.....making maps and setups having a blast!!!! I started monitoring and told wife I was going to give it one more shot and am sure glad I did! I couldnt get a strategy guide so I downloaded the PDF at 2K and made my own gameguide...then can add to it when I find some interesting tricks and tips as people post them. Have you heard when the addons such as Map Maker and Modbuddy (thinks thats the name I heard was what they called it????) which are supposed to appear on Steam IIRC?? Take care buddy, Im around more now, played about 7 hours today on CIV VI in between watching NFL all day. Regards Gramps

  14. Not meaning to interrupt anyone's thread here, I love football, have played several years of fantasy football over the years and took a break for several due to my accident and life. I started back this season, THIS is where this comment you made helped me justify and get rewarded, since Romo was injured, felt Prescott would do ok as a QB being thrust into the limelight but not finishing as many plays. This caused me to justify Dan Bailey as my Kicker and he came through BIG TIME in my ESPN FF League with my family. I love reading various theologies on Fantasy Football, read scouting/injury/projection reports. Its amazing, you spend all sorts of time making a gut wrenching decision, moment by moment monitoring any last minute announcements by team then watch the ticker...yards picked up....TD's...passing yards...defensive stands...sure makes football a lot of fun! Looking forward to a great Football season folks! Gramps
  15. I had my Gall Bladder and 46 Gallstones removed around 1998...started to have a lot of pain and high fever for three days...then went to hospital, got checked out and winner winner chicken dinner!!!! I had the pill bottle for 10 years with the 46 stones..each and everyone around 3/8th inch in diameter. Good thing was it was Laparoscopic surgery....plus so in and out in 2 days.... On a semi related note maybe 6 years ago I had an umbilical Hernia (in the belly button area) which kept coming out, very painful, my doctor kept saying hows it feel, told him hurts and he said "Not bad enough?" lol..but finally chose to have it done, went to preop meeting and that was in May and scheduled it for mid August, well just before 4th of July, on a Friday...had a high fever couldnt take a bowel movement for a week, lots if intestinal pain, double over type, anyway, during preop they told me about the mesh and staples and post op recovery, but when I had to have emergency surgery...a new Russian Technique was put in place..no mesh or staples..heck not even sutures...only glue...GLUE!!!! a 6 inch incision around my belly button and all they did was glue it closed! It worked just fine...amazing how techniques advance! Gramps
  16. ESPN FF site was down on both Mobil App and Desktop App...for maybe two hours.....but slowly coming back around. Interesting first week...I dont get the Love people have for RGIII? I am a lifetime Redskin fan....and he stunk it up bad for us....he didnt do much for Cleveland today

  19. Rhoth I have 6 grandchildren...I got to hold my oldest grandson 42 minutes into the world!!! He is now 13!!!!!! Our son, he is a Lt with Detectives at our Sheriffs Office....Internal Affairs and a certified Police Instructor for the State of North Carolina...he teaches/leads at BLET (Basic Law Enforcement Training) at our local Community College.......our daughter is a PA (Physicians Assistant) at a Heart Center.....me and my angel have over 31 years of marriage....both the children are legally my step children....but stop and think for a moment how much life has changed in 25 years.....amazing!!!!
  20. Amen!!! The world as we know it...will cease and desist!!!!! I remember so many doom and gloom prep talks in our company and lo and behold....not much more than a slight burp!
  21. I plan on it! Off the VERY HEAVY PAIN NARCOTICS!!! (Post accident/4 surgeries) which, um....made me view life through fog induced via weird dreams and thoughts!! Thank God that was over 10 years ago (accident) and 8 years (rebuilt spine and total wrist fusion) That being said...I will show all I am not a total @r$e-hole...but a positive contributor! Looking forward to learning from you Dale as you break out the various layers of understanding to playing and enjoying CIV 6! Keep Civin!!!! Grandpa Troll
  22. I will! Take care bubba! Gramps
  23. Hey guys!! Lets see...had a 60 " Television and my son way back in high school had a playstation 2 and played a game that mesmerized me, Civilization! Anyhoo, he went surfing and then to work and then on a date, returning somewhere around 12 hours after have left house, and I was on the same game (I started a game played like 1-2 hours saw some mistakes and restarted then played 16 straight hours! I played everyday and then my wife stated enough I had to get my own PC version to free up the TV, so went to Babbages (what Gamestop was called back then) and asked for the Civ game and she said well we just got in the new version of Civ called Call To Power! I then got so bit by CTP and the rest is history. Maybe 40 or so dollars and still play and Mod to this day! I still play CIV on PS2 while walking on my treadmill, play CIV III Conquests, CIV IV BTS (Dale you got me the birthday present and still use to this day!!!!!) I got CIV 5 but dont play I never cared for or got into one unit in a city to defend, may/may not get CIV 6..but didnt get the expansion packs for CIV 5. Along the way played and still own CTP2 as well as Alpha Centauri and Colonization. CTP and BTS have been mainstays with Civ series since the beginning, thoroughly enjoyed back in the day playing CIV III Conquests PBEM with Paddy The Scot and you Dale! Loved playing scenarios with CIV III Conquests, War in the Pacific I think....and another involved Roman Empire era very cool the way we did it, played turns, posted stories on Apolyton along with pictures, to bring the game to life! I also played CIV REV, just wished there was a way to extend gameplay! Loved the graphics just wish we could have the option to extend game or even make it a deathmatch or Conquests instead of winning via culture or score!!!! Ok thats my history and pray you all are doing well! Take care Keep Civin Grandpa Troll
