Humble Bundles Thread

Seems to be a good one this week (information mostly copied from Quarter to Three bargain topic):

$1US tier

Brothers : A Tale of Two Sons (reg price $15US)

Chivalry : Medieval Warfare (reg price $25) (Steam Trading Cards)

Ultimate General : Gettysburg (reg price $15) (Steam Trading Cards)

Coupon for 10% off Humble Monthly Bundle (makes it $10.80 USD) - This month's early unlock is Mad Max, so nice deal there.

BTA (currently around $6.03 and rising fast - was $5.30 a couple of hours ago) and you'll receive:

Tropico 5 (reg price $25) (Steam Trading Cards)

GRAV (Early Access) (reg price $20)

Victor Vran (reg price $20) Steam Trading Cards)

More games unlocked next Tuesday

plus the $1 tier games

Pay $12 and unlock:

Homeworld Remastered Collection (reg price $35) (contains Homeworld Remastered and Homeworld 2 Remastered plus both classic versions of the games)

https://www.humblebundle.com/glens-staff-picks-games

Grav seems to be the only one not with positive views (mixed instead) - in fact most have very positive steam reviews.

I realize there was already a Humble Bundle topic but it hasn't been posted in over 2 years so thought it might be good to have a new thread.

The 2nd week of the 2K games Humble Bundle added Freedom Force, Freedom Force vs. The Third Reich, The Bureau: XCOM Declassified, and Railroad Tycoon 3 to the "Beat the average" part of the bundle - currently at $8.99 USD (was at $8.92 before the addition of these games).

https://www.humblebundle.com/2k-games-bundle

$1 tier is Darkness 2, Duke Nukem Forever and Spec Ops: The Line.

Beat the Average tier is Civ 5, NBA 2K16, Mafia 2 Director's Cut (complete version of Mafia 2 basically), Freedom Force, Freedom Force vs. The Third Reich, The Bureau: XCOM Declassified, Railroad Tycoon 3 and Battleborn starter skin.

$15 tier is Borderlands the Pre-Sequel, Battleborn and some Battleborn currency.

You also get a coupon for 40% off XCOM 2 until August 30th - apparently if you buy the Beat the Average tier or above.

I don't really care about Battleborn so I am thinking more about the Beat the Average tier (not sure if it would be my 2nd or 3rd copy or worse of Civ 5 ;) ) - though even if you exclude Battleborn completely - the $6 USD extra for the $15 tier would be around 85% off the Borderlands Pre-Sequel game alone.

The pain for me would be the 30-40% exchange rate from USD to CAD :( ...

I forget, are these steam keys?

Yes these are, but they aren't always - you need to check the symbol under the game - it has been uplay or even DRM free on occasion, but mostly it is steam keys.

Highlighting the steam key - or whatever symbol it is - also tells you whether it is available for Windows, Mac and/or Linux. Beat the average is up to $9.02 now.

Latest Humble Bundle - until Aug 23rd:

https://www.humblebundle.com/survive-this-bundle

$ 1 tier

Tharsis http://store.steampowered.com/app/323060/

Savage Lands (Early Access) http://store.steampowered.com/app/307880/

Kholat http://store.steampowered.com/app/343710/

Beat the average to also unlock (currently $4.86 USD - started at $4)

Space Engineers (Early Access) http://store.steampowered.com/app/244850/

Rust (Early Access) http://store.steampowered.com/app/252490/

Shelter 2 http://store.steampowered.com/app/275100/

Pay $14 or more to also unlock

Planetbase http://store.steampowered.com/app/403190/

Note there doesn't appear to be any additional beat the average games unlocked next Tuesday

For me , $1 tier looks good - beat the average is ok - though I have Space Engineers already.

However, Planetbase is only less than a 33% discount and even less when USD to CAD currency translation is taken into account :( (too bad - looks somewhat interesting).

Also Lichdom Battlemage is about $1 on Bundle Stars https://www.bundlestars.com/en/game/lichdom-battlemage?utm_source=Bundle%20Stars%20Newsletter&utm_campaign=713b72848a-Lichdom_Battlemage_09_08_2016&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_3437eaaeba-713b72848a-428023757&mc_cid=713b72848a&mc_eid=3a29c50ee6

The next Humble Monthly Bundle highlight game is Grim Dawn - and I JUST got it 4 weeks ago - for more expensive than the monthly bundle would have been.

If I had waited, I would have gotten Grim Dawn now plus the other games of the monthly bundle in October for less than I paid for Grim Dawn alone ($15 USD that I paid for Grim Dawn on Steam vs $10.80 USD for a first time humble monthly bundle). Gah! sigh.... :( :( So mad at myself for my impatience!

That being said $10.80 is a great price for Grim Dawn alone for this month's bundle if you haven't bought a monthly humble bundle before - and $12 is still a very good price for Grim Dawn (better than any Steam discount up to now) if you have bought one before.

Grim Dawn can best be described as a post-apocalyptic version of Titan Quest with some added features - made by many of the same people that made Titan Quest.

February's Humble Monthly highlight game is XCOM 2 - likely means that the rest of the games in the monthly are weak - but still a $60 US game available for $10.80 for first time users and $12 for the others seems pretty good to me.

Well it turned out that the games for last month's Humble Monthly weren't so weak after all. Besides XCOM 2 there was:

Ryse Son of Rome

ABZU

Steamworld Heist

Ohklos

Project Highrise

Husk

and Oh Deer

Next month's Humble Bundle highlight game is Total War: Warhammer - so another $60 US game for $12 US.

As of February 18th - now is up to 69 total items (which would cost about $600) - unfortunately Subnautica is still not available - as it is a great game nearing the end of early access; however the great game Stardew Valley is available.

They have now raised $5.6 million for those charities.

Has 2 days and 2 hours left as of the time of this post.
