Anyone interested in playing or setting up a OCC PBEM? These are the settings I'd like to play with.
For map I was thinking a random 40x80 sized map. 50-70% or 30-50% ocean average erosion average or abundant native life dense cloud cover transcend difficulty Game Rules: Transcend on Conquest on Diplomatic on Economic on Cooperative on Do or Die on Flexible start on Tech stag off Spoils of war off Blind research off Intense rivalry off No survey off No scatter off No random events on Time Warp off Iron man off Randim personality off Random social off Special rules(in addition to the ones commonly used for a PBEM game): Colony pod module disabled.(only get one at the start of the game) Planet buster warhead disabled. Nerve gas ability disabled. Ban on probe team's genetic plague atrocity. No AI players

Don't worry about having a CMN to set up the game. There is a group interested in being a CMN. I can tell one of them how to implement the special rules.
You should contact bdanv. It is probably best to publicize elsewhere. zsozso, do you have a relationship with civ.org.pl (your files are there). |

A race for IA, then infinite crawler production race ? Sounds like a sure winner for research factions, mostly Uni. I would bet Uni will win this. Cyborgs suffer from the slow growth, Morgan form the smaller city limits. But I am in anyhow, and willing to take the Gaians for the challenge, especially if it is abundant fungus

I should probably worry about getting players before a CMN anyways![]() I was actually about to post the same thing on Apolyton too, I just got sidetracked by making sure I was still #1 in the arcade.

It might be better to provide a link to this thread when you post elsewhere. Duplicate threads can be very confusing.
Does anyone speak Polish? There might be interest on www.civ.org.pl. |

I want the Pirates (probably not the greatest choice for this game type but I like them)

With abundant native life, I'd take the Planet Cult in such a game. Probably get to crawlers 30 turns later than University, but hopefully could pick off enough crawlers with worms to stay competitive

Got 3 players pretty fast, I honestly didn't think this idea would spark any interest. Only 4 more to go.

Do you really need 7 players?
We can set it up as 3 human players and no AI's. |

Want to offer to be the fourth?
I would ideally like to have at least 5, but I guess less would be ok.

Are you all OK with this game being included in the SMAC/X ladder ?
More info about the ladder here: http://www.weplayciv.com/forums/showthread.php?t=215 Sign-up to the ladder here: http://www.weplayciv.com/forums/ladd...p?do=view&id=2

Not sure if an OCC game is really a ladder match material

One stupid idea: we could play double-seats, i.e. each of us plays 2 different factions, that makes it 6 factions. Since it is OCC, expansion is not an issue, we can also try 2 different strategies at the same time see which one works better. I admit I never done anything like that before, so it is just a wild idea, let me know what you think...

And to make it easier, your two factions follow each other.
So you receive a turn, enter password for faction 1, play faction 1, end turn, enter password (the same one) for faction 2, play turn, end turn and send save. You could also try out strategies for increasing your research. |
