Are there some French players here?

I would like to play SMAC, but my game is in French, and I don't know if I can play with someone who has the game in English without causing some translate troubles.

Moreover, I don't understand everything I read here, as I always played in French, so it might be difficult to play fast if I have to search the explanation of each abreviation you use.

So, are there some French players who want to play SMAC in a PBEM ?

the only frech around here was Bodissey but he's inactive right now. there is another french player at Apolyton: guillaume70.

no problems reported so far from the two of them and i'm pretty sure guillaume70 is playing with the french version of the game.

if you play-by-email i don't think this should be a problem though you may find it more difficult if playing on TCP/IP.
for the abreviations you can use this small dictionary or if can't find the answer there, you can ask in the same thread and i'm sure someone will find some time to answer you.

S'il y a besoin de traduire quelque chose, demande-moi dans ce thread et je m'en occupe. J'ai le jeu en Anglais mais j'ai encore le Guide Prima en Français si j'ai besoin d'un terme technique.

first step: post your profile here. you can add in the Notes that you prefer playing with french speaking players. by the way: Eldramatico (Élian) is speaking french.

second step: start a new thread. call it "Le PBEM francophone" or something like that. state your preferences for the game like Dolgorukov did here and wait for someone to show up.

third step (optional): if your want someone to help you set up the game up the game, fair starting location, etc., then you will need also a CMN. just ask for one.

me neither. at Apolyton there is a spanish section of the forum. maybe if you can draw in some more frech speaking players .. who knows..
