We kinda have two seasons.
Season 1 - really hot - lots of rain/thunderstorms
Season 2 - not so hot - not much rain

My pagan group is celebrating the begin of summer next sunday, at the second full moon after the spring equinox. This makes Midsummer really mid summer.You know how it is up here in the north, summer is short and sweet

But the flower moon is officially full on Saturday (unless I'm way off on my time zone estimate). Or do you mean a midnight Sat/Sun celebration?

Misconception.
Walpurgis is just the catholicized version of Beltaine, the sister holiday to Samhain/Halloween. Where Samhain marks end of the mortal season and the beginning of the season for the witches/netherworld, Beltaine marks the reverse transition to where it is safe to once again work the fields.
