Crusader kings II: a different kind of succession game. Play Ten And Switch (PTAS)

Guys,

you may have noticed that one can pick up any save and switch the country you play.


For a succession game I propose the following:

* Start as a lowly earl in Ireland.

* After ten years the next player may select a different earl, count or duke in Ireland (starting from the lowest available),
and play the next ten years.

So for clarity, this could mean we play:
1066 - 1080: Earl Ruardri of Tyrconnnel
1080 - 1090: Earl Conchobar of Kiladare
1090 - 1100: Earl Tadg of Desmond
etc..

PS. This is also the way for the very good players to keep single player mighty interesting, and challenging.
This way you know your opponents extremely well..
This I call the Play Ten And Switch (PTAS) type of game.

So in the above I am talking about a PTAS Succession game.

I'm not entirely sure:

How you change character/county when you save. Please explain.
How exactly this type of game plays. Do we just move around at random, or do I always play Earl of Desmond, while you always play Earl of Kildare, and we pass the save around every ten years, with the AI controlling our counties when we're not active? Please clarify.

AI control when not active.

And I think it will be best that one picks everytime the same character / blood line, but I guess that depends upon how many people play the PTAS Succession Game. As it could very well happen that a certain bloodline is eliminated, or is just fading into obscurity.

But we could make up rules for that..

With two players we could even do this in a one year variant:
Play one year as ruler A, save, then pick up save as ruler B, play it for a year, and rinse and repeat..

I guess that would feel something like a PBEM game..
