I suppose it was the poetry thread. Really that doesn't rise to permabanning levels and should just be a one week ban at most.

Taken alone, I don't think it was a permanban-level offense, either. Taken in the context of the warning he'd gotten shortly before-- well, I like Sid for those rare times he wasn't trolling, but I'd have put a wooden steak through his heart long before TPTB did.

Essentially, the ban was made permanent because it was a third ban for trolls and insults. Three chances is enough so we made that permanent, we just don't want to waste time on repeatedly dealing with the same kind of offenses by the same person.

But you did say please, so I'll try to comply. However, I have to point out that I've mostly discussed trolling and trolls, which is on topic by the nature of the thing.
The answer to the thread title is that he got it for the same thing you wee doing when you started this thread; only more intensely. If you're not looking to get permabanned, I'd suggest not being so deliberately difficult. I'll miss you when you're gone, but I won't miss all the rancor you get involved in.
